The biggest news of the week is the forthcoming BBC release of an animated reconstruction of the 1966 long-missing regeneration epic “The Power of the Daleks”. The master negatives were destroyed in an archive purge in 1974. The episode is introduced by the Second Doctor himself.

This classic Dalek adventure, featuring Patrick Troughton’s debut as the Doctor, will be released later this year on BBC Store, exactly 50 years to the minute after it was first transmitted on BBC One (November 5), and then on DVD.
