As I wrote in the description of this website, its purpose is to provide information about the Doctor Who series, characters and actors. The next video has nothing to do with the series itself, but David Tennant (Doctor Who number 10) and Catherine Tate (Donna Noble) appear together on stage for the first time in William Shakespeare’s timeless comedy Much Ado About Nothing. From my personal point of view it’s interesting to see how two actors that performed so well on the screen are performing on the theater stage.
Two young lovers, Claudio and Hero, are to be married imminently but the devious scheming of a resentful Prince looks set to thwart the nuptials. Meanwhile, marriage seems inconceivable for reluctant lovers Beatrice and Benedick whose endless witty sparring threatens to keep them apart forever.
Directed by Josie Rourke, Artistic Director of the Donmar Warehouse, Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare’s great plays and reminds us all of the failings and triumphs of the human condition in our never ending search for perfect love.
Script to Screen is back on BBC. And this time, if you’re aged 9-11 years old you can write an adventure for the Doctor set anywhere in time and space!
The new competition will be launched by the Doctor himself on Blue Peter on CBBC, Thursday, January 12 at 5.45pm. The challenge is simple. Schoolchildren aged 9-11 should write a mini-episode that features the Doctor in an Olympic-themed adventure. Amy and Rory can be included in the script alongside one of four familiar alien species plus a brand new human character.
I am not a big fan of Torchwood, but I watched it with pleasure. I am curious and I wanted to know what the show has to offer: it is good, but not close to Doctor Who (from my point of view).
The next video is the perspective of John Barrowman about the Doctor Who 50th anniversary and Torchwood 5th season. I did not now about the new Torchwood series, but it looks interesting enough to watch it (if and when it’s going to be released).
I think I will always remember the scene where captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) told the Doctor and Martha about the time he was modeling and he was called Face of Boe… I was laughing for minutes… I don’t know exactly how many, but they were enough to make the moment a great memory.
In the description of the video on youtube it is written that it is an unseen Doctor Who Confidential footage, and this was actually Torchwood Declassified but it belongs on Dr Who Confidential.
The 50th anniversary is a big subject and I want to treat is in its section, but it’s going to happen this year and it’s going to celebrate 50 years since the first episode of Doctor Who.
Meanwhile, just watch the trailer. 😀 Until now the Doctor Who have been magnificent, great, wonderful… but nothing is comparing to what’s coming.
Let me remind you about the first question and how the Doctor found out about it:
Doctor: “Who wants me dead?”
Teselecta: “€œThe Silence”
Doctor: “What is the Silence? Why is it called that? What does it mean?”
Teselecta: “The Silence is not a species; it is a religious order or movement. Their core belief is that silence will fall when the question is asked.”
Doctor: “What question?”
Teselecta: “The first question; the oldest question in the universe. Hidden in plain sight.”
Doctor: “Yes, but what is the question?”
In the season 6 final he was told the question:
DORIUM: “On the fields of Trenzalore, at the fall of the Eleventh, when no living creature may speak falsely or fail to give answer, a question will be asked. A question that must never, ever be answered.”
THE DOCTOR: “Silence will fall when the question is asked”
DORIUM: “Silence must fall would be a better translation. The Silence are determined that the question must never be answered. The Doctor must never reach Trenzalore.”
THE DOCTOR: “I don’t understand? What’s it got to do with me?”
DORIUM: “The first question. The oldest question in the universe, hidden in plain sight. Would you like to know what it is?â”
THE DOCTOR: “Yes!â”
DORIUM: “Are you sure?”
Well… Dorium told him. But, in order to find out about the question just watch the show. 😀
One of the subject of the interview was the Doctor Who Christmas special:Â Â The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe. It is sure that some changes will be done in the characters and companions, but there are only a few known data: Amy and Rory will leave the show during season 7 (to return in the future) and Matt Smith will leave Doctor Who at the end of the season.
You should know (if you don’t know already) that Doctor Who was the most downloaded show in America last year.
One other subject was the Sherlock Holmes series and the new (let’s call it so for the moment) competition between the shows. Sherlock Holmes have been already broadcast in 180 different countries, but it’s a long road until it will become a real rival to Doctor Who.
Just few nights ago Karen Gillan spoke about her confirmed departure from Doctor Who, the longest-running and highest-rated sci-fi series in history, during her interview on The Graham Norton Show (BBC America).
Some time during the season 7 of Doctor Who will stop being the Doctor’s companion, but she will return to the show in the future.
Valentine’s Day is coming soon, in a month or so, and I started searching for Valentine’s Day cards. Just to be prepared and not to forget to have some ready. Of course, being a Doctor Who fan, made me include the name in the search criteria on Google search. So, I found some very interesting card on the Girl gone geek blog.
We’ve all watched John Barrowman playing the role of Captain Jack Harkness in Doctor Who series and Torchwood series… but it’s the first time I am hearing him singing and singing Doctor Who theme song. I don’t know the occasion, but it’s fun. 😀

It’s official now (from some time now) that Amy and Rory will leave Doctor Who series during the next season (season 7). Karen Gillan appeared on October 29th 2011 on Graham Norton’s Radio 2 show and she talked about that. During the interview she said that she will welcome the next Doctor Who companion with open arms when her time is up on the show.
She also said: “I know the time is going to come when Rory and Amy have to leave. It’s inevitable and that will make me really, really sad. But that’s the nature of the show and what’s so good about it. What keeps it exciting is the fact that it’s reinvented all the time with new people. I think that’s a really great part of the show, so I will welcome the new companion with open arms.”
It seems she will return to the show sometime in the future, but it not know (to the public, at least) when. I can only hope it’s as soon as possible. 😀
